Plan for Your Future with Fertility Preservation
For hopeful mothers, fathers, and couples, fertility preservation opens up a world of possibilities, giving patients control over when to have a child. Preservation allows patients to use young, viable eggs or sperm for conception, or freeze embryos, reducing the risk for complications later on.
For those who have diseases, disorders, or other medical conditions that could negatively affect their fertility, preservation can be life-changing. Our Houston fertility doctor's office offers services to patients from greater Houston and visitors from out of town.

Best Fertility clinic, they are caring and love what they do. I did 4 rounds of IVF 3 being successful. And we did 1 round with a surrogate and we got twins. Blanca, Mayra and Melissa are the sweetest and love what they do. Dr. K is such a great doctor. I can't thank them enough for helping us build our family, we are so grateful for what they do.I would highly recommend if you are trying to start a family.

View on Yellow PagesWe Offer Egg Freezing and More
Our fertility preservation options allow you to plan your future on your terms.
What Are My Preservation Options?
Egg Freezing
This process involves the freezing, or cryopreservation, of unfertilized eggs. Women take injectable hormone medication to stimulate their ovaries and produce multiple eggs. After approximately ten days, the eggs are carefully retrieved and stored.
Sperm Freezing
Male patients who wish to preserve their fertility can provide a semen sample, which is then sorted, frozen, and stored for future use. This option can be used in combination with egg freezing, allowing egg and sperm to join when conception is desired.
Embryo Freezing
This process uses in vitro fertilization (IVF) with PGT. The ovaries are stimulated to promote egg production and a sperm sample is collected. The eggs and sperm are fertilized in a lab to form one or more embryos which are then biopsied for chromosome analysis, frozen, and stored.

Start Family Planning With In Vitro Fertilization
Fertility preservation can allow you to grow your family in your own time.
If you or your partner are not ready to start your family now, you can still plan ahead. IVF allows you to use preserved eggs and sperm. Frozen eggs can be fertilized at a later date, or preserved sperm can be thawed for later egg fertilization to create a viable embryo.
In addition, we can also freeze your embryos and save them for use at a later date. Once you or you and your partner are ready to grow your family, we can implant the frozen embryos for you to carry them to term.
Texas Patients Can Consider Gestational Surrogacy
There are many reasons why a patient or a patient and their partner may not be able to carry their embryo after fertility preservation. Cancer surgeries, reproductive system conditions, and poor health may jeopardize an embryo's viability.
If that is the case for you or your partner, you still have another option at our Houston practice: gestational surrogacy. This process allows a surrogate to carry you and your partner's embryo.
The gestational surrogacy process is legal in the state of Texas, provided you follow the law and ensure that a court validates your Gestational Carrier Agreement. While going to court may sound stressful, it can give you peace of mind to have the legal system protecting you and your potential future child's rights.
"Definitely an excellent clinic, Dr Kristiansen and his team, especially the nurse, Blanca G, who made us feel like family, because even though everything was work, every time I had a consultation or a visit it felt like being with family. Taking into account that They never stopped being professional and ethical, explaining each procedure and each step. The price to pay is comfortable, personally it is small, compared to the great happiness that one receives, the miracle of life, with the help of these professionals." Eva Novo
How Does Cancer Treatment Affect My Reproductive Health?
While cancer treatment can be truly life-saving, it also may come with substantial ramifications to your fertility. Radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy may each influence your reproductive organs.
Even if you do not have a cancer linked directly to your fertility, like testicular cancer, treatment may still lead to infertility. Cancer treatment can cause your ovaries to stop releasing eggs and estrogen. Similarly, cancer treatment can harm sperm production in men. If you have been diagnosed with cancer, you may still have fertility preservation options.
There Is Hope
Each reproductive journey is different. Our state-of-the-art fertility office in Houston can help you explore your options to preserve your fertility before cancer treatment.
What Fertility Preservation Options Do I Have If I Have Been Diagnosed with Cancer?
Depending on the type of cancer you have, the disease may directly impact your fertility. Ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, uterine cancer, and testicular cancer can be treated thanks to modern medicine, but they may cause infertility.
The risk of infertility is why it's a good idea to freeze your eggs, sperm, or embryos before cancer treatment.
You may also be unable to conceive or carry naturally after cancer treatment due to surgical removal of the ovaries or other reproductive organs. Even in that scenario, a gestational surrogate may still be able to carry your child for you.
We live in a world where cancer is increasingly treatable. If we can alleviate some of your infertility worries and give you a little peace of mind in a deeply stressful situation, Houston Fertility Center will be happy to help.
"I love this place..." More 5-Star Reviews From Houston, TX, Patients
I love this place and Dr. K has a high success rate. This is why I initially went to her clinic. They don’t treat you like a business but it’s very personal. I was successful on my first IVF attempt and had a healthy baby girl. I will be using her for my next baby when I’m able. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleI love this place the nurses definitely put alot of definition into this clinic. Without them and their kindness I probably wouldn't have made it mentally. Anytime I had a question they answered whether through phone call or email. It was the best!.. Thank you to Blanca and Mayra for making this the best experience for me! I'll be seeing yall again in another year or 2. ❤️
View on GoogleAre There Any Risks with Fertility Preservation?
Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS)
Egg retrieval for egg freezing and embryo freezing requires medications to stimulate follicle growth and maturity. While rare, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome can occur with these medications.
Bleeding and Infection
If sperm retrieval requires a laparoscopic procedure, there is a risk of bleeding and infection. There is also the risk of these side effects occurring with egg retrieval.
Reactions to the Anesthesia
Common side effects of anesthesia include nausea, vomiting, chills, and confusion.
How Much Does Fertility Preservation Cost?
The cost of fertility preservation can vary depending on the preservation method you or you and your partner are using. Houston Fertility Center offers financing options to allow you to pay in monthly installments to help our patients choose the right fertility preservation options for them.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long can you freeze eggs, sperm, and embryos?
Research has indicated that properly stored eggs, sperm, or embryos can remain viable for as long as 55 years.Does insurance cover fertility preservation?
This will depend on several factors, such as your specific plan and provider and your reasons for undergoing fertility preservation treatment. In many states, there is a requirement that "some or all state-regulated health plans cover fertility preservation before a medical treatment that’s expected to harm a person’s fertility." This means if you undergo treatment such as chemo or radiation, which can impact your fertility, your insurance may cover your fertility preservation treatment. We will verify coverage prior to treatment to help you maximize your benefits.
When is the best time to freeze my eggs?
The age when the body stops producing eggs will differ from person to person. However, studies show that fertility rapidly declines after the age of 30. For this reason, it's a good idea to freeze your eggs in your 20s. However, many women successfully freeze viable eggs in their early 30s.
Will freezing my eggs affect my natural fertility?
Not at all. Freezing your eggs will not affect your ovarian reserve or harm your chances of becoming pregnant naturally if you eventually choose to try.
What happens if I decide not to use my frozen eggs, sperm, or embryo?
If you decide not to use your frozen eggs, sperm, or embryos, they can be destroyed, or you can donate them to help someone else expand their family."I Definitely want to thank Houston Fertility clinic . Y’all made our dreams come true . I couldn’t thank y’all enough we are obsessed with our baby girl . Anyone who is trying to conceive, I would defiantly recommend them ."
